Douglas County Parks

Besides its extensive neighborhood park system, Douglas County oversees the Highland Heritage Regional Park, which has sports fields, picnic tables and other amenities including playgrounds for the kids and more. A Back Country Wilderness Area consisting of roughly 8,200

acres has been set aside in the southern section of Highlands Ranch. This area has been preserved as protected open space, wildlife habitat improvement and outdoor recreational activities.

Events Held in Highlands Ranch

The Highlands Ranch community organizes numerous local events throughout the year. Highlights include the Taste of Highlands Ranch, the Star Spangled July 4th Celebration, the Summer Concert Series, Highlands Ranch Days, Oktoberfest, and the annual hometown Holiday Celebration.
