The majority of home prices range from $200,000 to $350,000, and lot sizes are generally between 2.00 and 10.00 acres. There are some lovely new communities in Elizabeth such as Spring Valley which is wrapped around the Spring Valley Golf Course which is open to the public.
Visitors can stroll around and admire the carefully restored Victorian homes and then peruse the offerings of the antique, toy and vintage clothing stores that stand on Main Street. For lunch, you can choose between different local Mexican or Italian restaurants, or maybe some BBQ. There is a museum in Kiowa, which is just a few miles west on Highway 86, where volunteer historians carefully document the history of the area.
This may be a small town but it has everything you'll need - a large grocery, doctor and dentist offices, convenience stores and other professional offices, plenty of places to get your car repaired or serviced, banks, insurance brokers and a place to rent movies. While there are some big chain restaurants, the majority are locally, family owned. For an alternative in shopping you have only to go to Parker, a quick 15 minutes drive. For mall shopping there are The Outlets at Castle Rock, where a major regional outlet mall brings in serious shoppers, or Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree which offers a concentrated
shopping experience where you can find just about anything your heart desires. Not to mention, that Denver and Colorado Springs are within easy reach for both shopping and getting back and forth to work. No matter which way you are headed, the spectacular scenery of forests, open plains and mountain views makes driving here a real treat.
A recreation spot enjoyed by many, Castlewood Canyon State Park, is not far away. Situated in the well-known Black Forest, the park is an ideal place for hiking, rock climbing or bird watching, depending on your interests. Then there is the biggest event of the year - the Elizabeth Stampede! The Stampede Rodeo has rodeo events for pros as well as local rookies. Oh, and let's not forget Mutton Busting for the kids! The Stampede also features a parade and antique car show and will provide your family with loads of fun for everyone!
